Design-inspired Futures

A design approach for innovation, debate and futures thinking

Evocative stories, iconic objects, media infiltrations, physical sketches of what could be: Design outputs are tangible and imaginative and allow us to engage, explore and believe.

Combined with a setting and tools that are designed to inspire and support collaboration, a group of exciting people and a power- and playful process, these outputs allow us to make informed decisions about how we want to shape for instance a technology, material, trend or behaviour.

At Fuchsia, together with Scott Hartop and James King, we are designing a series of roundtable workshops called The Futures Of... in which senior decision makers and thought leaders explore and shape the futures of a variety of key themes.

Led by our interest in Sensory Substitution, we have created objects like the Eye Candy lollipop (here and here) which pre-empt a mass-manufactured consumer product and we were prepared to dance on the streets of New York in order to induce curious interest in a magical, yet hardly known ability of our brain.

We are excited about being able to think and play in order to shape the things to come.
